Ingredients:
1 ribeye steak, olive oil, seasoning salt, black pepper, garlic powder, butter.

Directions:
Directions:
Take the steak out of the fridge and let sit at room temp for 20 minutes. Season all sides in this order: seasoning salt, garlic powder, then black pepper. The amount of seasoning is up to you and how you like the taste of your steak. Cover the surface of a cast iron skillet with olive oil. Turn the burner to medium high heat. Right when the oil starts to smoke place the seasoned steak onto the skillet, placing away from you so you don’t get burned. Sear the two big sides each for 3min each to create a nice outer crust. After searing the first side add in butter and baste the steak.

Personal Notes:
I’ve been told that I cook the best steaks out of my family and house in college. I would have to say that medium rare is the best way to cook it.
Just a tip: Don’t let the steak hit the exact temp while on the skillet. Take it off when it is about 4-5 degrees below and let sit on a plate for 10 minutes before eating, it will still be cooking for the time it sits on the plate and will reach the desired temp. This will also keep the juices in.
