2 pkgs or 2 cake Yeasts
1/2 c Water
1/2 c Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 c Shortening
1 c Scalded Milk
5 to 5 1/2 c Sifted Flour
2 Eggs, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Soften active dry yeast in warm water 110º, compressed yeast in lukewarm water 85º. Add sugar, salt, shortening to scalded milk. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups of flour; beat vigorously. Add softened yeast & eggs, beat well. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. Let rest for 10 minutes. Knead on floured board for 5 to 8 min. Place in greased bowl, turning once. Let rise until double in bulk, about 1.5 hrs. Punch down and let rise again until double, about 1 hr. Shape into variations. Bake at 350º 20 or more min.
