Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 chicken breast halves
1 cup chopped celery
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz. cream cheese – room temp.
4 chopped green onion blades
2 cups of shredded cheese
Small clove garlic/garlic powder
½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped onion
1 pinch sage
2-3 packages Crescent Rolls

Directions:
Directions:
(1) Boil chicken breasts in just enough water to cover chicken with chopped celery and onion for one hour or until done.

(2) Strain celery and onions from broth and save enough broth for the sauce. Let chicken cool.

(3) Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Season with salt, pepper, pinch of sage and garlic. Mix chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, chopped green onion blades (enough for color) and ¼ cup of butter together.

(4) Roll crescent rolls into 8 rectangular pieces (or 4 large) (crescent roll dough works very well.) Put 1/8 of the cream cheese and chicken mixture on each rectangle. Bring corners up and pinch sides together covering all the mixture.

(5) Brush the top of each lump with melted butter (1/4 c. butter/margarine) then, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top of each lump.

Bake at 375º degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.

SAUCE:

Heat 1 can of cream of chicken soup, one pinch of sage and enough chicken broth for gravy consistency. Ladle sauce over each portion and serve.

**Chicken Ziegenfuss may be wrapped and frozen immediately.

Personal Notes:
You may chose to buy 1/3 less fat cream cheese, 98% fat free cream of chicken soup and low fat crescent rolls to make Ziegenfuss. These products do not lessen the good taste of the “lumps!”
