Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 large ripe avocado (the riper the better, you want it to be very soft so it's easy to mash)
1 clove of garlic
1/2 lime
salt and pepper to taste
tomato (optional)
cumin or fresh cilantro (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cut the avocado length wise from the top all the way around the bottom and back up. Pop open. Remove the stone. With a spoon scoop out all the bright green flesh into a medium bowl
2. Remove the skin from the garlic clove and crush the clove with a garlic press on top of the avocado in the bowl
3. squeeze in the lime juice
4. Add salt and pepper (and 2 pinches of cumin or a handful of chopped fresh cilantro if you want a stronger flavor)
5. With a fork mash the avocado, garlic, lime juice, salt and pepper all together. Once the avocado is all broken up and creamy use a spoon to continue stirring all the ingredients together.
6. If you want to add tomatoes, put them in at the very end. Dice half a tomato or slice a few cherry tomatoes. Stir in gently.

There are many different ways to make guacamole but this is an easy recipe that is extremely delicious. Great as an appetizer with corn chips, cornbread, or crackers. Also great with Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, enchiladas etc... It's a great dish to make when it's hot outside too because you don't turn on the stove. Avocados are considered a super food; being extremely healthy they are packed with disease-fighting antioxidants, and are high in fiber.
