1/4 c oil (I skip to lower fat)
2 large onions, chopped
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp marjoram leaves
1 carrot, chopped
1/4 c fresh parsley or 2 T dried
1 lb canned tomatoes
3 c stock, broth or water
1 c dry lentils
salt to taste

Directions:

Add all ingredients together. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. simmer until done about 15 minutes. Serve with corn bread.
