Directions:Melt chocolate slowly with honey, mashed cici and orange peel, stirring to blend well. Set aside or in fridge to cool until firm. Mix dough ingredients together and knead until smooth and glossy adding flour as needed. It will be elastic. Let rise for 1 hour. Cut off piece of dough (about size of orange) and roll out flat with rolling pin to rectangle shape. Don't roll too thin, dough is delicate and will tear. Fill by placing tablespoon of filling about every 3 inches along center of dough. Fold top edge over filling to meet bottom edge. Seal and separate cakes with a fork or pastry wheel. Let sit for 1/2 hour before frying.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon to paper towel to drain and cool.
Store in cardboard shirt box lined with foil, then waxed paper. |
