Crust: 12 Tbsp butter (11/2 sticks) soft, room temp.
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp white sugar
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups flour
Filling: 4 eggs, slightly beaten
3 Tbsp melted butter
11/2 tsp vanilla
11/2 cup white sugar
11/2 cup light karo syrup
21/2 cup chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350. Make crust first. Grease 9x13 pan. Beat butter and sugar together. Add flour and
salt. Mix will be crumbly, and dry. Press firmly into pan for crust. Bake for 20 min.
Filling: Mix all ingredients for filling in a bowl. Pour over your baked crust. Return to oven. Bake until set. About 35/40 minutes. I feel like mine always takes longer, when you check it, just wiggle your pan to see if it looks set. Cook longer if needed. Cool, then cut into squares.
