1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup chopped walnuta or pecans
½ cup margarine or butter, melted

2 egg whites
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries, or one 10 oz.
(You can use raspberries, fresh or frozen)
package frozen sliced strawberries, partially thawed
1 cup granulated sugar (decrease to 2/3 cup if you
use frozen strawberries or raspberries)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup of whipping cream, or 3 cups of whipped topping

Preheat oven to 350.Combine ingredients in a small bowl.
Spread the crumb mixture evenly in a shallow pan, and bake in
a 13x9x2 inch pan in the oven for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove 1/3 of the crumbs, and set aside.

In a large mixer bowl combine egg whites, strawberries, sugar and lemon juice. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed for about 10
minutes, or till stiff peaks form(a hand mixer works, but is slower)
(It is amazing how the strawberries just disapear.)

Whip the cream if you are using it, or scoop out the whipped topping. Fold into the strawberry mixture. Spoon it over the crumbs in the baking pan Sprinkle on the remaining crumbs on top. Freeze 6 hours, or overnight.
To serve, cut into squares.
