Ingredients:
1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 t salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 t vanilla
3 whole eggs
1 heaping cup shelled pecans (or walnuts)

Directions:
Mix syrup, sugar, salt, butter, vanilla. Add slightly beaten eggs. Pour into a 9” unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle pecans over filling. Bake in 350º oven for approximately 45 minutes. You can top it with a bit of whipped cream or ice cream, but even plain, nothing tops this!

Dear Abby, I hate to admit it but this is the best pecan pie recipe. I used Mrs. Smith's ready made pie shells and I made two pies instead of one. I used 2 cups of pecans (1 cup per pie). I did this because my family does not like thick filling in pecan pies. I used Mrs. Smith's shells because she makes them better than I do. I just wanted you to know that my pies turned out very, very good! Thank you!!!
Sincerely,
BooBoo
