1/4 # lean bacon,
1 onion (diced),
3 cloves garlic (slivered),
3 tbs veg. oil,
2# round steak (diced),
2 tbs flour,
2tbs tomato paste,
2 cans beef bouillon,
1 cup red wine
one bouquet garni
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 can button mushrooms

Directions:

cut bacon into 1/4 " lardons.saute and drain.
add 3 tbs oil, diced onion, garlic and meat.Brown.
Sprinkle flour over meat and stir.Add tomato paste and seasoning. add bouillon and red wine. Add mushrooms last hour. Simmer approx 3 hrs. Add more wine if needed. Meat should be tender but not fall apart. Serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes. *This may be frozen after cooking.
