2/3 C shortening
2 C sugar
4 eggs
2 C canned pumpkin puree
2/3 C water
3 1/3 C flour
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 C walnuts or raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cream shortening. Add sugar and beat well. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in water and pumpkin puree. In separate bowl, combine flour and remaining dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Fold in walnuts. Fill muffin tins 3/4.

Bake at 350 for 15 - 20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
