1/2 lb. wildrice
1 large onion
1 1/2 c. diced celery
2 cans sliced mushrooms
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
8 c. chicken broth
1 c. cream or 1/2 & 1/2
2 - 3 c. ham or chicken
salt and pepper

Directions:
Cook wildrice as per package adding 4 tbsp. chicken flavored soup base to the water. Saute onion, celery, mushrrroms in butter till soft. Over low heat, sprinkle in flour, stir to combine. Slowly add chicken broth, mix well. Add rice, ham or chicken and simmer 1 /2 hour. Add cream and simmer 1 hour. Season to taste.
