Cookies:
1 C shortening
1 C shugar
1 C canned unseasoned pumpkin
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 C raisins or nuts

Frosting:
3 tbs butter
2 tbs milk
1/2 C brown sugar (packed)
1 C powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar and pumpkin. Add egg and mix well.
Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add sifted
ingredients to pumpkin mixture. Stir in raisins or nuts.

Drop by rounded spponfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375
degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.

In a saucepan, cook butter, milk and brown sugar until sugar
dissolves. Cool. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until smooth.
Spread glaze on warm cookies.
