1 lb. pinto or lima beans
2 pkgs. ham hocks
1 large onion
1T. sugar
1T. garlic powder
2T. liquid smoke

Directions:
Directions:
Soak beans in cold water overnight. In the morning, add to your crockpot, beans, ham hocks and 1/2 of the sliced onion. Cover with water about 1 1/2 inches over the top of beans and hocks.
Add garlic, sugar and smoke. Stir.
Cover your pot and cook slow for 8-10 hours. Keep an eye on your water. You don't want to let it dry out.
When done, remove hock bones and serve with fried taters and corn bread.
