4 c. fresh asparagus
2 c. water divided
5 T butter
1/4 T chopped onion
5 T flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
4 c. milk - skim or 2 %
1 T chicken bouillon granulors or 2 cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Cook asparagus until tender in 1 c water, drain and reserve liquid.
Saute onions in butter until transparent. Stir in flour, salt, white pepper. Cook over Med. heat, stirring constantly 1 min. Gradually stir in milk & 1 c water, reserved liquid and bouillon. Cook, stir with wire wisk until mixture is thickened and hot, stir in asparagus, heat and serve.
You can use broccoli or any other vegetable.
Pour asparagus into milk mixture.
