12 slices white bread, crusts cut off
1 lb. shaved ham
3/4 lb. grated sharp cheddar

Combine:
3 eggs
3 cups milk
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 T. salt
1/2 tsp. Lawry's salt
dash Worcestershire
dash nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Lay bread on bottom of 11x13 greased baking dish. Layer ham and cheese on top, pour egg mixture over top. Refrigerate all night. Back at 300 degrees for 1.5 hours. Put buttered corn flakes on top during last 1/2 hour to add a yummy crunch to your brunch.

I remember my mom making this for company brunches and it presents very elegantly. She always felt very guilty buying white bread at the market, which I do too, and almost feel like I owe the other shoppers an explanation. This is worth the shame in our whole-grain community. Be strong.
