3 c. unsifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1 large egg
2 c. chopped peeled apple
1/2 c. chopped almonds
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Grease 10-inch tube pan. In large bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Stir in buttermilk, butter and egg until just combined. Fold in apple and almonds. Spoon into greased pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes. Cool cake in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Turn out on serving plate.
