1/2 C shortening
1C light brown sugar
1 egg well beaten
1/2 t vanilla
1 1/4 C flour
1/2 t soda
1/4 t salt
1/2 C finely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and gradually add sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, salt, soda and nuts. Mold into block and keep in fridge (Ice Box) over night. Cut as thin as possible.....I use a serrated knife.....Bake at 425 degrees for 5 minutes.

Watch the time, could be less than 5 minutes. They should be very crispy.
