Personal Notes:
Great Grandma died when I was 5 years old. I remember these cupcakes which really are like muffins, but everyone called them Grandma's cupcakes.
I remember her parakeet, "Happy", and I remember she used to make me black coffee with sugar and a raw egg yolk beat into it. It was supposed to be good for me, and I really liked it. The kids called it "egg and coffee", the adults called it "Zabaglione". These muffins are good toasted with butter and a cup of coffee. This brings back one of those childhood memories that is so faded in your mind. Yet we can't forget.
