5 1/4 c sifted flour
4 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
3 3/4 c sugar
1 1/2 c vegetable oil
6 eggs
1/2 c buttermilk or water
3 c pumpkin puree (1 large can)
1 1/4 c chopped nuts
zest from 1 large orange

Grease and flour two small loaf pans. Sift dry ingredients, including sugar into large bowl and make a well in the center. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Divide batter between the two prepared loaf pans and bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
