Mix 1 German Chocolate cake mix (as directed on box) Pour 1/2 the batter into a
13x9 cake pan. Bake 15 min at 350 degrees.

1-14oz pkg of caramels
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
Mix in saucepan over low heat until caramels are melted.

Pour this mixture over baked cake and sprinkle with 1 cup chopped nuts and 1cup chocolate chips. Add remaining batter and bake for 20 min. at 350 degrees. When cool top with cool whip.
