8 Tablespoons butter or margarine
8 Tablespoons flour
1 Teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
Dash of pepper
4 cups milk (can use 2 cups milk and 2 cups cream for a richer sauce)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan over low heat. Blend in a mixture of flour, salt, garlic, and pepper. Heat until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk. Return to heat and bring rapidly to boiling stirring constantly. Cook 1 to 2 minutes longer. Makes about 4 cups of sauce.
