8oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
Pinch salt
6oz. semi sweet chocolate chips

3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
4 T. cocoa
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. water
2 T. cider vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. oil

To make filling, place softened cream cheese, egg, sugar and salt in bowl, beat until smooth. Stir in chips, set aside.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add remaining liquid ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on medium. If you are doing cupcakes, fill each cup 1/2 full with batter and drop about 1/2 T. filling in each. For a cake, pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and drop spoonfuls of the filling all over the cake. For cupcakes bake 25-30 minutes at 350. For cake bake 45 to 60 minutes at 350. When cool, sift powdered sugar over the top or frost with chocolate frosting for a real chocolate treat!
