8 T. butter, softened
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c. chopped fresh chives
1 sm. can sliced black olives, drained
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 loaf French bread (about 18 inches long)

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and mayo and stir until well combined. Stir in the grated cheese, chives, black olives, garlic salt and pepper. Preheat the broiler. Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Spread the bread thickly with mixture. Lay bread on a cookie sheet and slide under the broiler. Broil until the edges of the bread are brown.
