3 lbs. onions
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
2 T. paprika
1 bay leaf
3/4 c. flour
3 qt. water
15 beef bouillon cubes
1 1/2 c. white wine
salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Halve and slice onions 1/4" thick. Saute onions in butter for 90 minutes.
Add pepper, paprika, bay leaf & flour.
Stir & saute 10 min.
Add liquids slowly. Simmer 2 hrs. Season with salt.
Refrigerate overnight.
Assemble heated soup, French bread, swiss or gruyere cheese & broil til cheese melts.
Serve with additional French bread.
