3/4 lb. nuts
Fruit:
1/4 lb. candied orange peel & lemon peel
1/2 lb. each: candied citron, pineapple & cherries, dates, dates, white raisins
(total fruit 3 lbs)

1/2 lb honey
1/2 lb sugar
1/2 lb butter
1/2 lb flour
5 eggs, separated
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp slat
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
6 T. fruit juice & wine (one recipe says or)

1 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cut fruit, sprinkle with extra 1/2C flour.
Cream butter with sugar and honey.
Stir in well beaten egg yolks.
Add dry ingredients & juices.
Alternately add mixture & well beaten egg whites.
Add will chopped fruits.
Line tin with waxed paper.
Steam 3 hrs. Then bake 250 degrees for 1 hr.

Fill pans only 3/4 full

Didn't she soak it in bourbon or wrap it in cloths soaked in bourbon?
