1 lb. ground beef
6 cups water
3 tsp. bouillon
2 cups sliced carrots
1 cups chopped onions
1 cups chopped celery
cup chopped green pepper (optional)
1/3 cup uncooked barley
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 bay leaves
Big squirt of catsup
28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
8 oz. can of tomato sauce

In a large frying pan, brown ground beef and drain. Put into a large stock pot or crock pot. Stir in remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Tip: I always make this for dinner and then freeze the rest for later.

Personal Notes:
This soup is a staple in our house as well as the rest of the family. It was my Dads favorite and served with hot, crusty sourdough bread. Its awesome! Make it in a crock pot and let it simmer all day. The house will smell wonderful
