M&M Cookies Recipe

16 oz. plain M&M’s chocolate candies
1 ½ C flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 C butter, softened
¾ C sugar
¾ C packed, light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 C chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease baking sheets.
Coarsely chop about 1 ½ cups of M&M’s. Put candy in a zip lock bag and break with a rolling pin. Reserve the remaining candies for decoration.
Stir together flour, soda and salt in a small bowl, set aside.
In a larger bowl, cream together the butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture gradually. Add chopped candy and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto baking sheets. Bake 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven and decorate cookies with the whole candies. Return to the over for 3 to 5 minutes longer or until light brown. Remove and cool on wire racks.
