1/4 tsp baking soda
11/3 cup butter milk (divided)
2/3 stick butter melted
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:

Mix flour, baking powder,baking soda, 1 cup of buttermilk, and melted butter in large bowl. Place the egg, vanilla sugar and remaining buttermilk in a mixer and blend. Add to mixture in bowl and mix together.

When I lived in L'Anse and the kids were young it became a Sunday tradtion to head to the Baraga Legion for pancakes. You know how dad loved pancakes. Anyway, he liked these so much he somehow managed to talk the chef out of the recipe. The recipe he got was for a large crowd so I pared it down to this serving amount. To make for a large crowd multiply everything by 12 (careful, for you mathematically challenged...
