3 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1/2-inch cubes or 3 lb ground beef
1 large onion chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 cups water
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
5 to 6 Tbsp chili powder
1/4 cup Masa Harina (optional)
1 Tbsp Hungarian paprika or regular paprika

1 Tbsp jalapeno juice
1 Tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano, crushed
1 tsp ground red pepper
1 tsp salt
1 can pinto beans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a kettle, cook beef, onion, and garlic in oil until meat is brown. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 2 hours. Top with green onion, if desired.
