1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup Crisco oil
1/2-1 small onion, grated finely (or dehydrated onion works well)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. celery seed (optional)
1 head of lettuce, chopped
chicken, cut up, and cooked with salt, pepper and season salt
frozen peas
green onions, chopped
celery, chopped
Chinese noodles

Bring the sugar, vinegar and oil to a boil just until sugar is dissolved. Cool a bit and pour into a jar with a lid. Add the onion, salt, paprika, celery salt and celery seed to the jar, shake well and refrigerate. Toss the remaining ingredients together, using the amount of each ingredient that you would prefer. Pour dressing over salad and mix thoroughly and serve right away, or place in a bowl and let guests pour their own dressing.
