"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
This is one of my favorite dishes. It is so easy and quick, but delicious. I usually use Ranch Style Beans, just because I usually have them on hand. They just add a little more flavor. I serve cornbread with the soup and that makes a good meal. This is a really large pot of soup, but I like to make large quantities and have leftovers. It also freezes well.
