Meatballs: 1 lb hamburger meat, 1/2 lb ground suasage, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 egg, 3/4 cup Progresso Italian bread crumbs.
Sauce: 16 oz tomato sauce, 8 oz tomato paste, 1/2 cup or more brown sugar, 1-2 cloves pressed garlic, 1/4 tsp oregano, 1/8 tsp pepper.
other ingredients: fresh Italian sub rolls, provolove cheese slices.

Make meatballs as directed, then sat aside to add to sauce later: For meatballs, mix together thoroughly, the hamburger meat, ground sausage, egg, ketchup, bread crumbs (washing hands thoroughly with warm water both before and after making the meatballs); then form into 1/2 -3/4 inch meatballs, and place into frying pan. Brown on all sides. Set aside meatballs.
Make sauce as directed: mix together in a large pot, over medium-low heat - tomato suace, tomato paste, brown sugar, garlic, oregano, and pepper. Add more sugar to taste if needeed.
Then add meatballs to sauce, and reduce heat to low. Simmer covered for 2-3 hours.
During 1/2 time of football game, open sub rolls and fill with meatballs, then top with provolone cheese slices. Put sub roll in microwave oven for approx. 30 seconds to melt cheese and warm bread. Serve immediatly.
