1 C. Butter or Margarine
1/2 C. shortening
3 C. sugar
5 eggs
2 Tbsp. vanilla
3 C. sifted flour
3/4 C. 7-up

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl cream shortening, margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one. Blend in vanilla, slowly beat in sifted flour. Fold in 7-up. Pour mixure into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 3/4 hours. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.

This cake is a family favorite. It is good without any toppings, but we love it with strawberries and whipped topping.
