2 cups water
1 cup rolled oats
3 tbps butter
3 3/4 --4 3/4 cups flour ( I used whole wheat)
1/4 cup sugar
2tsp salt
2 packages yeast
1 egg

topping for bread

6 tablespoon melted butter

combine
1 tablespoon grated paramesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/3 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

grease 9X13 inch pan
bring water to a boil.
stir in oats remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoon butter COOL
Combine 1 1/2 cup flour , sugar . salt and yeast
add beaten egg to cooled oats
blend in oats to flour mixture beat 3 mins at medium spead,,, stir in remaining flour to form a stiff dough ... Knead 3 to 5 minutes.. shape into a ball.. let rest 15 minutes... punch down then press into 9X13 inch pan cut diagonial lines 2 inches apart through dough, repeat opposite directions spoon 4 tablespoon butter over dough. let raise 45 minutes Bake at 375º for 15 minutes
Brush on remaining 2 tablespoon butter over paratialy baked bread sprinkle with herb cheese mixture Bake 10 to 15 minutes...
