Notes: For a family party, at Marie's, my job was to make a cake. I got up very early and found I had no applesauce. Woe is me!!! Too early to go to Lagro to the grocery. I fired up that one little lonesome brain cell, and came up with a winner. Voile'! I found a can of pumpkin and went to work. Lawrence was always my best customer when it came to food. Lawrence came up, gave me a big hug and announced loudly, that was the very best "applesauce" cake I had ever made. I never did tell anyone about the pumpkin.
