1 lb ground turkey, beef, or Italian sausage
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed

1 tsp dried basil or 4-5 leaves, fresh, chopped

1 tsp Italian seasoning or to taste
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pan, cook meat with celery, onion, bell pepper and garlic. Add herbs and spices. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Adjust seasonings to taste. (Can add 1/4 tsp cinnamon for an interesting variation.) Cook on low heat for at least 2-3 hours.
