German Potato Salad Recipe

6 medium red potatoes, boiled, peeled, & sliced
2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
6 pieces bacon, cooked till crisp, drain and crumble
*Reserve 1/4 cup bacon drippings
1/2 cup purple onion, diced
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp celery seed
dash of pepper
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup water

Cook onions in bacon grease till tender. Add sugar, salt, pepper, flour and celery seed. Add water and vinegar. Cook til thick and bubbly. Then cook 1-2 more minutes. Stir in bacon, potatoes, and eggs and stir gently. Serve warm or at room temperature.
