2 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar
2 sticks butter, at room temperature
6 whole eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Cream the sugar and butter with 2 tablespoons of flour taken from the 2 cups. About 5 minutes with a stand mixer. 8 or 9 minutes with handheld mixer. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg is added. Add remaining flour and vanilla. Cook in 2 layer pans (9 inch) that have been greased and floured, until done, about 30 minutes. Note: This cake has no milk, water or leavining.
