I lb ground beef (I don't use the lean b/c I've found it doesn't taste as good)
1 bell pepper (I like orange, but green, yellow or red will do just as well)
1 onion
chili powder to taste.
1 can kidney beans, drained.
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (15-16 oz size on all cans)
1 can Hormel or Stagg chili (Sorry, but I NEED it to thicken the sauce)

Brown the beef with the diced onion and bell pepper, and chili powder sprinkled liberally on top.
Drain. Add to the canned items in a stew pot. With one of the cans add a a can full of water. Bring to a simmering boil for about 8-10
minutes. Lower the heat and cook on medium until it looks right.
Serving suggestion....Goldfish crackers on top.
Voilą!!! A winter warmer.
