1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 egg
1 stick butter, melted
Filling:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
16 oz. powered sugar
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Combine the cake mix, egg and butter and mix well with electric mixer. Pat into the bottom of a lightly greased 9" x 13" baking pan.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add powdered sugar and pumpkin pie spice, mix well. Spread over cake batter and bake for 40-50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.

Variatons: For Pineapple Gooey Butter Cake, use pineapple cake mix and add a drained 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple to the cream cheese mixture in place of pumpkin. Omit pumpkin pie spice. Dust with powered sugar after baking.

For Lemon Gooey Butter Cake, use lemon cake mix and add a small box of lemon jello to cream cheese mixture in place of pumpkin. Omit pumpkin pie spice. Dust with powered sugar after baking.

For Peanut Butter Gooey Butter Cake, use chocolate cake mix. Add 1 cup creamy peanut butter to cream cheese filling. Omit pumpkin pie spice.
