1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
grated rind of one lemon


Glaze:

juice of one lemon
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Loaf: In large bowl cream together butter, sugar and one egg. Beat in second egg and blend in milk.
Mix in all dry ingredients and stir enough to moisten. Spoon into greased loaf pan and bake in 350º oven 1 hour or until it tests done.
Glaze: Stir juice and sugar in small saucepan. Heat and stir to dissolve sugar. Spoon evenly over HOT loaf. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing.
