2 pounds yellow squash, sliced
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup bread crumbs
3 tablespoons butter

Directions:
Directions:
Bring squash and water with salt and sugar to a boil. Turn to low, cover and cook about 15 minutes. Drain, return to pan and add 1/2 stick butter. Mash until well blended. Add rest of the ingredients, except bread crumbs, and 3 tablespoons butter. Pour into 2 quart casserole and top with bread crumbs
Cut butter into small pieces and put on top of casserole. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
