2 eggs beaten
1/2 c sugar
1 c milk
1 c corn meal
2 c flour
4 tsp baking powder
salt
2 T melted shortening
1/3 c candied fruit

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs until light. Add sugar and milk. Beat until blended. Sifted together dry ingredients. Add to egg mixture. Lightly stir in melted shortening and fruit. Bake in a greased loaf pan about 1 hour at 350 degrees.

This coffee cake recipe was served by Mom at the holidays. It is in a slightly shakey hand writing on one side of a card, and typed on the opposite side possibly to better preserve it. It is not dated.
