5 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
1 pkg yeast
1 1/2 c buttermilk
1/4 c sugar
1 c shortening
2 T warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Put in buttermilk. Add buttermilk & yeast mixture to dry ingredients. Mix well. Knead, adding flour as needed. Roll out amount needed to 1/2" thick; flip over and cut out biscuits. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake at 450º until brown.

Dough may be stored in refrigerator at least one week or cut-out biscuits may be frozen on cookie sheet til hard. Store in plastic bag and take out as needed.
