1 1/2 lb navy beans
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 c chopped onion
4 Tbsp chopped green peppers
1 1/4 tsp salt
black pepper to taste
1/4 c flour optional.

Directions:
Directions:
Soak beans in cold water 4 hours. Drain. Place soup ingredients in pot with cold water to cover. Simmer slowly 3 to 4 hours, adding water as needed. To thicken, if desired, make paste of flour, stir slowly into soup. Simmer 30 minutes more and serve.
