3/4 cup butter(1 1/2 sticks)
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3 lbs. apples

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice apples. Set aside. Melt butter and add flour, sugar, and egg. Mix well. Fill LARGE pie pan with apples and pour butter mixture over the apples. Sprinkle with apple pie spice. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes or until brown.

Edith's notes: Muriel has been a friend for many years as well as our neighbor since we moved to Lincoln Street, West Haven, CT in 1962.
I made this pie in the spring 2006. It was a nice treat - a little different from apple pie, more like an apple cake. I believe this is a Swedish Apple Pie recipe.
