1/2 lb. cream cheese
1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 t. salt
1/4 lb butter
2 3/4 c.flour
Cream to moisten
5 strips bacon diced and partly cooked
1 diced onion
1/2 c. diced ham (optional)
1/2 c mushrooms
1 egg
1/2 c. 1/2&1/2
1/8 t. nutmeg
1/8 t. salt and white pepper
1c. diced Gruyere cheese diced
Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Mix together the first 5 ingredients. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Put in 8inch pie pan and cook for 12 minutes at 450 degrees. This makes 2 crusts. You can freeze what is left.
Filling: Spread over the dough the bacon, onion,and ham. If you use the mushrooms, cook them to remove their moisture. Spread the Gruyere cheese on top.Mix together the egg, 1/2&1/2,nutmeg, salt and white pepper. Pour over the filling. Cover with grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
