6 C flour
1 C milk
4 T sugar
4 tsp salt
6 T shortening
1 C cold water
1 pkg dry yeast
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Measure flour into bowl, set aside. Heat milk to scalding. Add sugar, salt and shortening to hot milk; stir until dissolved. Add cold water to milk. Mixture should be lukewarm. Add yeast to milk; stir until dissolved. Blend 1/2 of the flour in milk, then add egg; beat until smooth. Add remaining flour; mix well and knead for 5 to 10 minutes. Let dough rise until double, then punch down; roll out on a lightly floured cupboard. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut out dough like cookie, with a round cutter. Take each round and fold in half; set in a 9x13 pan with folded edge up. Let rise until double. Bake at 425º for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. When removing rolls from oven, brush with sugar water (1/4 cup moistened sugar)
