2 1- pound packages pita bread
2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
2 T.minced garlic
1/4 t. ground cumin
1/2 t. chopped fresh oregano (1/4 t. dried)
1/4 t. paprika
1/4 t. red chili powder
1/8 t. cayenne pepper
Dash each salt and white pepper

Cut pita bread slices into quarters, as you would a pie, and then halve each slice to make 8 triangular shapes. Carefully pull each triangle apartat the fold to make two single chips.
Mix melted butter with remaining ingredients. Place pita triangles in a large mixing bowl and pour butter mixture over them, tossing gently to coat the triangles.
Spread pita triangles in single layers on a baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes or until very crisp, like croutons. Cool completely. Can be stored in airtight containers for up to 1 week.
